New Season Success
We have had a great start to the new season in both Rugby and Girls Hockey.
The 1st XV Rugby team travelled to Prior Park for one of the first tournament of the season. The team played well in the group stages, comfortably beating Pinewood, Old Buckenham Hall and Cheltenham. Due to injuries the semi final against Swanbourne House was just twelve a side. It suited the Downs play and they managed a great win to see them into the final against St John’s. After a hard first half our 1st XV managed the one and only try of the match. They went home tournament winners.
The girls U11 Hockey team travlled to Clayesmore for their tournament. The girls played some great hockey through the group stages with wins against Warminster Prep, Durlston Court and Clifton, they saw themselves through to the semi finals against Clayesmore. With some great tackling and defensive work they were heading into the final against Clifton who they had already beaten once in the group stages. It was a hard match but shortly into the second half the U11 team scored the winning goal.
