Year 7 French trip to Chateau de La Baundonniere- April 2010
Our annual Year 7 French Trip to Normandy was a great success. All the children thrived in the French-speaking environment and the Chateau staff were extremely skilled at enabling our pupils to feel comfortable and challenged in such an atmosphere. Here are some comments from our Year 7 pupils:
Olly - "It was really fun and we got to know everyone and now we can all speak French better"
Jonny - "The activities were amazing!!"
Megan - "The French trip was awesome! My favourite activity was archery!"
Nicole - " I had the best time ever. I can speak a lot more French and I have now tasted snails!!!"
Headmasters' for the Day
Robbie and Travis Rayfield took the reins on Friday 11th May. The Headmaster resigned from the bench, having taken Assembly the boys held a Staff Meeting in which they told colleagues they had permission to beat children and that the school would have an extended break after lunch. The teachers chased off to lessons, Robbie and Travis then walked down to the hospice to present a cheque for £1,200 on behalf of the school, the money kindly raised from the sponsored walk. At lunch friends were then invited on to the Headmaster's Table - notably Mr Gunn was not invited. Later in the afternoon all Year 4 enjoyed a special Tea Party and a swim. Robbie and Travis proved popular Headmasters' and the jury is out as to whether Mr Gunn should be allowed to return. Our thanks to Mr and Mrs Rayfield who for the opportunity gave generously to DSA at the Summer Ball 2009.
